I'm gong to be staying at Currumbin Waters early to mid October and looking for a beginner friendly area to kiteboard. I can water start and ride downwind so looking for all the time i can get on the water to improve. Currumbin alley is listed as intermediate to advanced so that's out. Where else can i go?

Hey Sarge,
The alley is greatly tide affected and if you choose the wrong tide to go out, you will end up in trouble.
I'm guessing you would prefer flat water being a beginner?
You will need transport to get to other flat water spots which are on the northern end of the coast...Len Fox Park at labrador, better known as KFC or Loders Creek and also Shearwater Ave at Runaway Bay.
If you don't have transport the only other option you may have is Kirra in a northerly, but it is in the waves....

Our season has kicked off pretty well so getting some wind shouldn't be a problem....

Hope this helps!!
Good luck and good winds....

Thank you very much for this. Transport is not a problem as i am driving down and yes, flat water is greatly preferred. Maybe a few years down the track I'll look at waves but for now i need all the help i can get. Looking forward to meeting the locals
