Bit of a long shot, But.. worth a try..

I was at Bontany Bay on Sunday 20th in the afternoon, Got talking to a chap called Steve about kiteboarding holidays etc comparing places to go and where to go.
He had been to Venezuala Margarita Island a couple of times and loved it. He was going to send through some tips on places to stay and where to go.

Steve, Send us a PM, I didn't get your mobile number.

Cheers

If you are going to Venezuela please concider going to Los Roques Archipel!

Be very careful in Venezuela ispecially Caracas.
Maybe have a look at.....
Morrocoy National Park
Puerto Colombia/Choroni

There are plenty of beautiful beaches.
Bring US$ and it halfes the prices but be careful when and where to x-change.

I was there 10 years ago and the safety halved at least.

Wasting away again in Margarita ville. That's a very long way for a kite.
Spose is theres no wind could get a big baggie and just win charlie sheen style.
Go for a big aussie road trip instead.

I've been. A few people have been and posted photos. I'm sure it will be different now that Hugo is dead, but it was a lot of fun. Los roques is cool as boats take you to an island and drop you off with an eskie of food and beer and a beach chair and an umbrella and then come and pick you up 6 hours later. Tons of coral reefs and atolls. One of the most unique places I've kited. Isla margarita is huge and the only place to kite is el yaque. To get there you'll need a cab, if you aren't staying on the beach. The conditions there aren't much better than your local in Aus but there are massages by the beach, cocktails, lounge chairs, kite repair shops if you've got a puncture, places to rent kites, etc.
