Wondering what more experienced foilers think of the fkite-5, the slingshot hoverglide aluminium system.

I'm assuming it's a very "normal" beginner foil - about as good as everything else, with some room to move to intermediate by switching out the front wing. Is that about right? Anything huge I'm missing?

Carbon $ is not an option for me.

I had an older SS system, H2 or H5 or something. It rode well apart from gaining front foot pressure at speed which is an unneccessary trait. The only real downside was that is weighed a ton, built like a tank. Not really an issue while riding but not ideal. On the plus side having lots of mast lengths available is great for learning.

Classic foil a lot of us learnt on. There's way more accessible foils now.

The Hoverglide is a great option. Yes it's heavy, yes it's a bit old fashioned, but there are multiple wings, mast lengths, different fuse lengths. Later if you like you can add the high end Phantasm wings, fuse to it.
Plenty of parts around too.
