Looking at moving over to Axis, what would be a nice paring for the 930. So much choice of stab.
first experience of Axis.
thanks.
Hi,
here in Germany they tested the HPS 930 with the 400p and the 390 gap with very good results.

I ride the 880/830 with 400/350p and I'm 80kg. If I know I'm going to be overpowered on the 880 I reduce the stab lift with a negative 0.75 degree shim or stick the 350 on.
Mike
I am 100kg and use the 400p with the hps 980 and art 899. For me the 400p feels just right I wouldn't want to go bigger but I might get another smaller progressive wing
I'm switching from Armstrong to Axis. I'm 70 kg and looking at art 899 for medium + wind up to 30 knots and hps 880 for 10 knots + is this doable and what are the wind ranges of these foils???
HPS880 isn't too good for lightwind. 10-15 knots you will want the HPS930 or maybe HPS980 depending on your weight

I think you could make that work . I'm 68kg and have a 1099 880 and 899 (wife's 880 )
There's quite a lot of overlap with 899 and 880 so you could go 930 / 899 or 880 / 799 for the conditions you describe .. I tend to use my 899 95% of the time from 4.5m to 2m weather .. waves, flat water or prone .. 350p tail and ultrashort fuse ..
the 880 definitely gets going in slightly less wind and will pump out of holes / stalls better than 899
either would do me as a 1 foil does all ..
re the initial post .. 350p or 375p
I rode the 899 /ultrashort/375p 1st time today, wind was 25knots gust to 35 here on Maui.got bucked off first few times and then moved the mast almost all the way back on my KT 90 liter 5'4. and was able to foil albeit with lots of focus..how far from the tail of your board is the back of your mast plate??

nice...
about 18-20 cm from tail. 18cm winging, 20cm prone surfing .. on a 4'6 board .. would probably move it to 22 - 25cm on a 5'4..
Question here again! I got the HPS 1050 and it's so much better as the PNG 1150. I bought it after to try how low in area I can go and exelerate speed in lighter conditions and it's so cool. Now I think about it to replace also the smaller PNG 910 which I hold for stronger conditions. I am around 95 kg. Yesterday I was out in 16 to 18 knots groundwind with strong gusts and chop. 4.5 wing. And it was tricky with the PNG 910 wibbly wobbly ****. I thought the HPS would cut the wind waves like butter with a hot knife. What u guys think about size to add to the 1050. 930 I thought or would u go for the next smaller? What force will the 1050 hold? Thanx and sorry not native speaker

I'm the same weight as you and my set up is 1050HPS, 999ART, 830HPS. I would recommend you go with a smaller HPS as your next wing, maybe the 980HPS. I'd stay away from the ARTs for now until you get more comfortable. The 1050 has a CRAZY good range but when you get into the low 20s it gets a little tough to manage. The 830HPS is ridiculously fun when the wind gets over 20.
Hi
I'm 70 kg and use HPS 1050 and 930 for 10 to 25 knots with 375P tail. Works well but may swap the 930 out for the 880 to get a bit more control in the 20 knot plus range.
930 replaced the PNG 910 and is much faster with better control in chop and gusty wind. 910 foils up a little earlier but not by much.
Hey!
Thank u guys for answers. Exactly thats what I thought about the hps 930 compared to the png 910. It feels a kind of boxy specialy in chops. Maybe the hps 930 is my next foil then. Today I took the 400p as stab and it was much better than the 420 Speed. Is it more tackled because of the winglets? The 400p also felt faster. I wondered because it has less ratio then the speed.
Greetings
