Sam Dillon at Gerroa last week

Now we have your attention, you can help to ensure we continue to see big aerials like this into the future.

To better understand the windsurfing community and improve as a windsurfing organisation, the NSWWA has created an anonymous, confidential survey. We would appreciate hearing from anyone involved or previously involved in windsurfing in any way.

This means we want to hear from all sorts of windsurfers, regardless of whether you have been involved with the NSWWA or not, from all states, even if you don't wavesail, but take part in other aspects of windsurfing.

You can complete the survey at:
forms.office.com/Pages/ResponsePage.aspx?id=DQSIkWdsW0yxEjajBLZtrQAAAAAAAAAAAAN__qNBq9hUME5YUlE1TENDTjhOUUdFRDdHQVIwS0JHRC4u

We look forward to hearing from you!

Thanks for your interest!
With the transition to electronic judging this season we are currently working through a few issues before we post the results. Rest assured that the results will be posted before the Severne Season Showdown presented by WindSurfnSnow on 16-17 Feb.

EDIT:
Sorry, just realised you meant survey results haha. We will leave the survey open for a while to get as many responses as possible. Once we close the survey we will need to organize the results so no one can be identified. These results will likely be released in a discussion/strategy paper released sometime in the offseason. If circumstances allow, we may try to release some results before the end of the season (teams event on 9-10 March at Gerroa/Windang - some shameless self promotion here ).

Good on you for putting it there for people to offer their thoughts.

Nice little punt from Sam, though this from Doogs is still the bench mark.

Are you kidding?
Those 6-8 ' jumps are nice, but pedestrian at best.
BrucePeterson and Mike Kitts were jumping 3 times higher in 1990, and DaleCoik the same until he started foiling.

Firstly, we're talking aerials not jumps.
secondly done at gerroa, not the gorge

your comment is irrelevant at best.

I heard a rumour that Americans are all talk but feel free to prove us wrong. X

Good stuff, you guys!
None of you know me, so say what you like.
But ask a few oldtimers who sailed California, Oahu, or Baja and you'll be surprised.

Mate, you may have got mast high barrels at pipe on your back hand or punted 1000ft airs at diamond point, but no one cares.
Your continued discouragement of anything new or innovative and your condescending remarks to the average sailors posts show that you were probably a sheep on the outside of the innovators trying to be noticed and cool back in "the day". And yes, we don't know you, but no one wants to.

Only an idiot refuses to learn from history.
You are doomed to repeat past mistakes by only looking forwards.
They taught you that in 5th grade.
Maybe you didn't let it sink in.

No, you spoke of flat water jumps, not aerials off the lip whilst waveriding
Now you've been called on it, you bring up wave spots.

I think you need to admit you were being a knob when you implied the pics here were not impressive as Dale Cook jumped higher in the 90's. Its a totally different jump method and you looked dumb for saying it. Then get upset and call everyone sensitive. FFS

Stu is spot on, you often make disparaging remarks then realise you were talking about something different. Then just have a crack at everyone. Sound like Brucie from way back.

Maybe you should take your own advice and learn from history.

You've been called out on your grandstanding numerous times years back on the iWindsurf forum - one example below from 2012;

Try and be a little more humble about your abilities and windsurfing knowledge

Yes, I agree, the aerial is impressive, but really it's the data (from the survey) that interests me! Of course, I accept that LeeD would only be interested in "Big Data" !

Mark Angulo was doing 8' aerials off the lip at 'yards in 1989, and he was maybe 15 then.

LeeD, it's relative to the spot and conditions mate.
I also think you completely miss the whole point of the post so may I suggest you get back under your bridge, maybe have play with yourself while thinking about the good old days.
How about you let us enjoy where we're at now and remember, if you don't have anything nice to say don't say anything at all.
It just makes you look like a bitter old kook who couldn't quite make it.

"now that we've got your attention".......

The title was to arouse interest. They are awesome aerials but nobody was saying best ever, just crazy big (and they are, even if they are same height as Angulo did) and followed by "now we have your attention" lets talk about continuing this sport.........

OK maybe you missed that, you could be forgiven for it if you didn't read the post. But to say Dale Cook jumped like that in the Gorge just looks plain ignorant, or deliberately trolling. Then get all personal with folks who call you on it.....
Man, stop digging.

Ok people lets keep the positive attitude that most windsurfers have
The biggest waveriding airs I've seen was by Cesare Cantagalli at Pungarehu in mast and half - just awesome
The board he rode really looked like a surfboard with trifins (equal sized).

I think Josh Stone at chopes - especially as the drop into the flats with bugger-all wind to get you out of trouble means its a very punishing one if you get it wrong.
