Thumbs Up

So I loaded up the LT and went down to Pykes Creek Reservoir today - being outside Melbourne I couldn't get to the bay during the lockdown and didn't have the time to get down to Geelong - so I tried this popular swimming spot about half an hour from my place.

If you're on the M8 Freeway, this is the spillway you drive over in that dip past Bacchus Marsh - to get there take the Greendale/Trentham exit and follow Pykes Creek Rd.

When you drive in there is the boat launching area, if you keep driving there are some nice lawn spots to rig up.

Overall, had an absolute ball - had the place to myself, but there was plenty of room. The biggest downside was the rocks on the shore, but they were fine with booties, and there looked like some better launching spots with finer gravel. The lawn area was only a few meters from the water (it's currently at 80ish% capacity) - when it's full I think you'd almost step off the lawn into water.

I'll definitely be back.
