Only ridden it twice since I got one in November, with a 5.8 once and a 6.4 2nd time. Super happy with the FOX 95, for where I sail in the Noosa lakes it does everything very well. Also have a Fox 105, same for it.

Thanks for the info Hroar do you find 95 feels same as the 105 just bigger? And do you think 95 is a good drop down in size to 105 ?

i recently got a 95 , used on sea , very comfortable , normaly i use slalom boards. pretty fast for such a easy board , used 7.1 and 6.3 ka race ,tribal slalom rebased 32 fin. gybes very easy , on flat water its to easy for me and not enough lift.

From your comment on the fox 95 do find the board dull to ride ? And do you find any other down side of the 95 too. I'm just about to buy one so be good if you could expand on you thoughts.

its for me dull on flat water since i am used to slalom boards , it all depends what you are looking for, i think its fast for how easy the board goes. I had the rear straps in back position but with my weight and the smaller ofo compared to slalom i put them in the forelast position. that suited me and my 95kg better. I bought this board because i was planning to sell it again and only for testing but i think i keep it ;-)

For blasting and jumps I prefer my fox to my futura. Yes, I have too many boards. ??

Sounds like you have a good selection of toys ,if in same conditions and board size how would the 95 compare to the futura.

I wouldn't jump a future, the new ones are basically a isonic with a bit more Vee. In the past I've had a Futura 111, 101 and a 93 [2014-2015] models. They were good at that time but the Fox is better at everything, however on dead flat water because of its deep Vee it doesn't have that chat-ery feel of a slalom but its speeds aren't that much slower. The Fanatic blast is slightly faster than fox in flatter water but again not as easy to ride in nasty chop. The gap between the 95 at 61 wide and 105 at 65 wide works well for me, my weight 82 kg.

I had a carve 111, nice board but went soft under heels in 4 months. Futura 111 did same but took over a year for it

What about a Fanatic Hawk? They are pretty quick on the flat or in chop and quite smooth riding. One for sale on here, apparently only used twice:

I have the 105 and a 101 futura ( both 65 cm wide). Fox will be better in chop and is easier to throw around I think. The Fox feels a bit sturdier for jumps and flexes a bit less with impacts IMHO but that is a subjective impression. Both very good boards but the Fox is the more versatile I think.

you have too many good boards to choose from ....

the rocket always feels a live ,and definitely has the speed .they are little rockets.

Yes there are to many good boards to confuse me but nice to have the choice tho . All may sailing is in open sea and is rarely flat when windy so will definitely want easy control when blasting, I always sail with foot straps right back and on outside and sail on the fin .

The rocket has a good nose rocker and double concave ,which makes them ideal in lumpy conditions ,
And are no way threatened by a piece of chop in front of you ,so you stayed sheeted in .

i recently exchanged my CED model for a full carbon one this year .

For me the Windtech Silver Bullets, faster and more stable in all conditions especially in chop. Never had a Fox or a Rocket pass me and I'm only an average sailor and i see on this site they are only $2,600 full carbon compared to the Fox at $2,900

All the fox's are slightly different, not just a bigger board. I've ridded all of them. The 95 has more rocker and V than the 105, the nose entry point is quite different to the 105. The 95 can really handle the chop, which what you expect as you go down in board size, as you are using this board with smaller sails in higher wind, hence there is naturally more chop to contend with.

The "flight control" on the 95 is amazing, get yourself dialled in with your foot straps (use the inboard settings) and you can just fly over chop and big swells keeping in control in the air with the board connected to your feet, as it is so well balanced in the air.

It does feel funny however if you use on really flat water, like a lake, as you notice it moving around a lot on its axis's, however its not the board for these conditions.

Hi NC..... you're happy with the RRD FSW, you'd be more than happy with the RRD FireStorm for controlled blasting!

Have now just collected my 2019 fox 95 and noticed it has now no cut outs on the tail ? I've asked the shop why and they say have changed mid way thru development to make more stable and reduce tail waking ? Has any one experience of this on the 95 .
Help !

I do find it strange to change the design part way through a current year production run but wind forecast looking good to give it a blast on Sunday so will feed back then.

Hi Nerdycross,
We did remove the cut outs from the Fox 95 as a running change. We're always working on these boards and testing different things that we find ourselves and also what we hear from feed back.
I did some back to back testing with cut outs and no cut outs. I gave these boards to others to test as well. The info that we got back was that in lighter wind it didn't make a very noticable difference. We found that in the stronger winds when you're pretty much on the edge it helped to stabalise the board and made it trim better. The Fox 95 is still very good with the cut outs. It was a good opportunity to make a small improvement along the way without having to build a whole new mold.
Hope your new board goes well for you.

Cheers, Hoops
