I get this message
Device changed, com ports rescaned!!!
Check if the proper com port is selected...
Check if the GW60 COM USB mode is selected.
How do I make it select USB mode? I've had the issue a few times and usually wiping the contacts with a damp tissue helps but it's playing up today. Also it happened another time and I charged it and the next time it worked so if the battery is a bit low can that cause issues?

Hi Sue, unless you've changed the connect mode it should be OK.
But to check, it's in settings, called "USB Class" there are 2 options,
UMS: USB Mass Storage type for non-Windows platform users
So just make sure the top one is selected.
You can still use the bottom one, but the utility won't connect to the watch. you have to follow this instruction.
To get GPS data in USB MSC mode :
(1) Set [USB CLASS] option to [UMS] first. (2) Connect to USB, and select "TO USB MSC"to enter USB MSC state.
(3) Find a new flash drive with a READ only file- GPSLOG.SBP on your host PC.
(4) Remove USB cable to exit.
I don't think low battery is a problem, as the voltage should be high enough once connected to the USB.
In the past I've had to have several goes at cleaning before I could get a connection.
Other people have had trouble with the sprung pins on the cable clamp. Somehow they manage to get stuck in, just have a gentle probe and make sure all four pins are moving freely. It's probably not a bad idea to clean them as well.

Thanks. I cleaned it several times and that didn't work but then i noticed one of the pins was stuck in. i got a compass and pressed on it a bit and it popped out and worked..
