Hi a question for mr love/sail quick or any others that use the koncept with sdm 100%.
i have a 2019 koncept 7.0 which I have used for nearly a year on a 430 ka sdm around 2011?? (Used the koncept for 10years) It's the one with the glass or Kevlar on outside, now the sail and set is absolutely awesome and have recently smashed pb's on it..sets nice and deep and progressively twists off nicely rotates well no complaints at all, i have just bought another 430 sdm ka 100 2019 (red and spread tow carbon) so I could rig the 6.2 alongside, anyway I tried the new mast in the 7.0 and straightaway it looked wrong..mainly too flat and no shape up front, sailed it anyway and it was terrible no power, was oversheeting and didn't think it handled the gusts that well, felt so stiff I tried backing off the bottom cam batton to experiment..gps showed 1-2kts off pace, so next day I rigged it again and measured from the luff to the boom gave it a good look over and it was definitely flat, I rigged the old one and instantly my old friend was back! I measured the luff to boom (up front off red stitching) and it had 30mm more draft! Also the draft-measurements only fluctuated mm's when Increasing downhaul whereas the new mast kept flatting it off more, sailed the old mast and different world!
so is there a slight change in bend curve over the 2 masts if so why does the correct mast and sail both 2019 don't work? Has anyone else found similar? Am I a freek or is the mast a turkey?
