I busted my back mount pole and although I was able to salvage it, I would like to replace the pole. Does anyone know what the pole is made out of?
I want to say someone else on here told me that it was fishing rod?
This is how it broke. You can't see the pole in the first three shots as I am running a 360 camera, but the shows my 75kgs landing back first on the boom. Good design though as the internal string prevented me from losing the camera.
Get solid fiberglass pole. It will never break like this.

Or go to the fishing store and ask for a broken fiberglass fishing pole section. Or grab that one from HomeDepot to glue two carbon pieces together.
It's just glass pultruded tube. Not hard to buy carbon or glass tube just like it.
Actually judging by the images, you can clearly see the layers where 0/90deg layup alternate. I would say it is roll wrapped carbon tube... probably pre-preg. Possibly the same as golf shaft or high end fishing pole.
