The early stages. Tried to bend the ski with a 5 gal container. Then steam it. No luck. Tried to establish some rocker.
Ended up taking the nose off and building my own rocker and attaching it to the front area. Also started doing some shaping while I was at it.
So what do you do with that? You go to a ski base and just "windsurf"? Do they allow you anywhere? Do you hate snow bikes there as jetskis in the sea? Enjoy!

It's called, windsurfing on snow! It's so much fun!!
This is my old model. Building a new, revised model with better shape.

Build a rocker jig, then do marine plywood in layers laminated together like they make a skateboard, clamp it down on the jig (with jig covered in plastic so it doesnt stick to it )
then you will get a much better shape in your rocker
I'm already pretty deep into it now, but will take that into consideration on model # 3 if this one fails me.
Will you use any "skeg" in the rear as a fin?
You could likely rebuild an old snowboard, if you have one, that way you also get steel edges.
I have a commercial version, much stiffer than a snowboard, that will run on both ice and snow. Quite nice surfing feeling in powder-snow actually, and very fast on clean ice.

That looks very nice! Great pics as well! How does it gybe? Yes, I will have a small finbox assembly that I pulled off my last model and installing it on the new one. I'm building a new deck for the new ski. It's much larger, so I can move around the deck with ease.
Finbox assembly is in, rails are shaped for the most part. Going to go over everything once more to make sure everything is symmetrical. Then seal the wood with a coat of resin, sand paint and add one more coat of resin.

Gybes in powder snow are really nice and quite similar to windsurfing.

Awesome! And can you go uphill also?

Very Nice!!
Really cool. I would like to see some videos. As someone else said, you can use two or three layers of thin plywood (2.5-3 mm), glue them together, and clamp them to a rocker jig. That will be very stiff and it will have the desired shape. unless you buy one, I am pretty sure you will build a third one :)

Thanks! I'm really happy about the shape. My goal was to shape it similar to a modern windsurfing board. I wanted it to be lively across the snow. I hope it's faster than my old model. This model is 6' 4" long and 11" wide. This ski is longer and wider than the old one.
Stick it on stilts and call it snowfoiling
I already tried that and found it unsuccessful i.e. too much "work" and not efficient enough
this winter I will be building something similiar to OP :-)
it is the one third from the left - from MagicRide's suggestions
