transporting a SUP from Tassie to Vic

Just wondering if anyone has any intel on best/safest/cheapest way to get a SUP from Tassie up to Melbs/Geelong?

Just for the hell of it I had a look on Google Earth at island hopping the eastern chain to Tasmania.
I think it is possible to do with a longest paddle of less than 40km and most about 20

Kayaks cross it quite regularly departing from Wilson's promontory, longest paddle between stops approx 70 km. 3 paddleboarders crossed in 2014 but apparently had to spend majority of time prone paddling or knee paddling. Nicho Ray crossed on a SUP in 2018

yeah ... nah.
Island hopping in perfect conditions on an 18ft board with a support crew in a boat would be amazing though

looking pretty expensive to get one over here - 420$ my first quote

Turn up at Devenport and ask someone in the ferry line to put it on their roof, sure would be plenty of takers for $100. Is the ferry operating not sure.
