Great little paddle and 20 waves this morning. Took a new strategy to the crowded spot which is a reef break, waited to the side of the break until the large sets went through and everyone going for them. Once they were gone I paddled into the impact zone for the smaller to medium sets that no one was catching and had a blast, much better than hassling for 3-4 waves and 10 wanting them.

Hi Dave,

I think my mate was out that morning with you.
he was on a Fanatic pro

Hi Luc,

Thanks for getting me out in the surf with you on Thursday! Windy and cool but nice to catch a couple of waves. Totally blown out yesterday with winds between 25-40 knots. Surf comp this morning at North Chesterman, near zero degrees and a bit blown out but heats are going. Toby our new pup looks forward to your return. Here is a photo of you guys together.

cheers

Bob

Great weather but a little too much wind which turned a casual paddle into a great work out up and down wind.

Yesterday, I emptied out Creek Van, to take some friends for a 2 hour paddle tour of the mangrove estuary.
Surfs SUPs are great for casual paddling

I ended up with the 8'7 Placid for the trip

So fun to watch the kids discover fish and other critters as we paddled along.

Taking grandkids paddling is really eye opening - you get to notice a lot of estuary life that you normally pass by!

Gisborne Town Beach on Nalu 11'4......bit of a gap between sets today so almost a winner as easy to paddle back out. As opposed to yesterday when I only caught two waves....no gaps and punishing shore break

Took a quick 10hr trip up to the GC for a SUP Comp with the legends from the SUSinc crew.. Pretty wicked and challenging conditions so we figured a stop off to a sheltered spot on the way home was in order... we were not disappointed!!!

Hey Riverider, where's that spot?
When I get down to Hobart for work, I go over to Clifton Beach, or to the reefs on Bruny on the way to Adventure bay...

Hey Bomberdave,
I have a Garmin watch so all the info is on their app, I modified one of their apps to suit SUP but have also downloaded. A SURF one but have yet to test it.
