I keep having issues with the front wing fitting, mainly when using the GT2200 for long periods (more than 2 hours). The front wing becomes loose. I tried gofoil stickers and wax, without positive results.
On the other hand, the rs1300 is fitting perfectly.
Any suggestion?
Does anybody have the same issue?
Is it flush up to the fuse? If yes sand the foil so it can go deeper onto the tapered part of the fuse.
It goes all the way to the end, but it does slides out no matter how hard I tightened the bolt.
I trimmed off the back edge of the wing hole (where the fuse is inserted) so it can seat farther in. I then had to make some adjustments on the slot - ended up opening up the slot so i could get the bolt in with some extra room, then i filled in around the bolt with epoxy filler and re-countersunk so its not a slot anymore, its just a perfectly placed hole.
Very happy with the result - Zero movement and a absolutely hammer on my setup daily.

Good advise thanks
Hi there, I also have the RS1000 and the new 90cm mast and it's just a fantastic foil! Unfortunately, I also have some serious vibrations. It feels like there is some sea weed on the foil. There is no gap between the wings and the fuselage but there is a certain step (4mm) from the bottom side of the front wing to the fuselage. Is this normal or could this be the reason for turbulences.
Furthermore, the front wing is moving a little bit around the fuselage. I read that some people put Epoxy inside the wing to fix that but I'm a bit afraid that I won't get the wing off the mast again after putting the Epoxy. Also, it is new gear and I don't want to risk guaranty . what do the pros think?
thank you for your help in advance!
The front wing should have zero wobble. Take it back to the shop you got it from for advice. As mentioned here you can lightly sand the end of the front wing spigot where it butts up the the front fuselage.
If you shorten the front wing spigot length then it will push up more on the taper and be a tighter fit. I would try this simple fix before even contemplating epoxy or tape. All three of my front wings push on and off but stay tight. No mallet required.

Can you describe what kind of vibration and how is it more noticeable?
i also feel a draggy vibration mostly on low speed and riding with the mast deeper.
Already tried sanding mast and stab with no success.
front wing is fine with no gaps or looseness.

Your foil should be rock solid when on the fuselage as the taper is self locking and the screw is for security not rigidity. So if your foil is sliding all the way up to the spigot and still wobbling then that will cause a terrible ride. I wouldn't sand the back end of the foils taper as has been suggested.
Kobo, in a previous thread suggested using auto acrylic clear spray on the inside of your wing and let it dry and then check fit. Repeat until the foil is tight and just short of the spigot after being tapped on with a mallet. I think this is the best advice i have read to armstrong and gofoil people with the same issue and i will be doing it myself in the next few days to my rs1150.
With a 4mm gap and movement something is not right. Take it back to the shop to check no lumps on the taper.
Hey guys, thank you so much for all your answers!
@hilly, the 4mm referred to a step from frontwing down to the fuse, not a gap between these parts. Gofoil said, this step doesn't do anything.
Regarding the wobbling: My Frontwing indeed touches the border of the fuselage. I cannot slide it any further. Gofoil suggested putting a metal tape in order to tighten the fit. You can find that video on YouTube "Shimming wings on a GoFoil". Sorry, I cannot post links or images yet.
@cefirmeza the vibrations occur randomly but very frequent and as @anyboard said, results in a terrible ride, since it affects speed and makes it somewhat harder to control.
@anyboard. For me it is hard to imagine, how you can dose and place that acrylic spray "to the right spot" in that channel. Did anybody do a video on how to do that?

On my 1000 I cut triangles of very thin metal tape and put one on each of the 3 inside surfaces that did not have the screw hole. This sorted mine.
Vibration can also come from the trailing edges if you have not sanded them. Is it noisy?
Thank you for linking the videos, @hilly. No, my foil is completely silent and I didn't sand the trailing edges. I will try to get some metal tape today (currently on a Greek island, I'm curious if I get it )

Wish mine was silent Any tape will do short term. Good luck.
This is the step I was talking about. Does anyone know how I can share videos (of the moving Frontwing) in the forum?
All my front foils have a step on the bottom. Measured the RS1000 and it's 4mm on top and 6mm on the bottom.
I have a pnl 185 that does not go all the way in. I lube the fuselage with Vaseline, tap wing with mallet and gap is gone. Mast is 32.5.
Not sure, if you got my right, @DUCfoiler. With step I don't mean the gap, I mean that the end of the Frontwing does not have the same height as the fuselage:
I managed to upload a video of the wobbling front wing now.
Have you tried tape or epoxy? As per videos.
Tape works, but the issue is that if you have several wings this may fit for one and then you must remove it for others. My RS fit perfect, but GL240 and GT2200 not at all.
My RS1150 was once very tight but was now hard up against the fuselage leaving the foil a little wobbly. When i checked my RS1000 it too had moved further up the taper and was touching the fuselage but was still tight. I used the auto acrylic rattle can and put the lightest coat on the fuselage taper and it moved both the foils about a millimeter back in alignment, so just short of touching the fuselage.
They are both rock solid on the taper now. I would do the same on the inside of the foil taper if my wings were very different fits but they are much the same.
I'm about to get a RS1000, but I was talking to a wingfoiler the other days that were using the RS500 and loving it. He was fast. I'm starting to consider a 650.
Is anybody using an RS650 in the waves apart from towing?
What about SUPfoil in big waves?
Waiting for the RS850.
Hopefully GoFoils equivalent to the Lift120 and ART899.
I cant believe aguera screwed us by releasing that GT 1770 instead of the 850. What a waste of time!

Lift 120 = 775 cm2
Cabrinha 800 = 800 cm2
Axis 899 = 850 cm 2
So yeah definitely a place for a GF around the 800 to 850 mark .
Haha had a blast on the GT1400 today and looking forward to the GT1770. We are not all heroes. At a guess the gap between the 1400 and the 2200 was viewed by mere mortals as a bigger issue than the gap between the RS1000 and the RS650.
If you are that good watch Mr Bennett's on a 650, he rips and learn. Then apply.

The 850 isn't filling a gap. It's just a small high aspect. The 1000 is mid aspect. Looking for the 850 for smaller days for better pump
Hey guys!iv been MIA, good to see everyone still posting on this thread. The original RS850 clip that Dave posted is not how it is now, Alex has been testing the **** out of this thing and is almost ready to hit our shores. There is also as Hilly said the GT 1770 just landed which is a super cool new inbetween size. I'll be over in Maui next month testing all the new gear so i can post clips and report back here with good news. For in detail specs check out the updated specs on my website. It has actual projected cm2 etc etc gofoilaustralia.com.au/pages/what-foil-for-you

Looking forward to the specs of the 850
Btw, the new specs format on your page is handy but would mention the RS1300 has reverted back to the incorrect measurements on the Go Foil usa page. Unless they made a new mold, the span of mine is just over 105cm.
