What happened to the rig? They said it was a rigging problem and had to make a jury rig?

That was my mates yacht, he sailed it from US across the Atlantic to the Med, returning to the Caribbean then the milk run across the Pacific to Oz.
I meet him in Fiji, and he got me back into sailing... What a shame, glad their ok, he sold her to a couple from Balina that wanted to take her cruising.
Nice yacht, Jeanneau 47 from memory, setup for well extended cruising and very well maintained... not your normal production boat but that was 7-8 years ago.
Bugger...

Must be pretty desperate to get back in. May not be able to heave to with a jury rig. Wednesday the 26th looks like it starts to get sh!tty. www.windy.com/-Waves-waves?waves,2019-06-25-18,-41.278,-179.561,4,m:cF2a1
