Just want to say hi to all the south eastern tassie kite surfers. I'm totally new to kite surfing except for plenty of experience with a 4m foil kite and a lesson in St Kilda that covered all the safety, a bit of launching, flying and relaunching.

Can anyone suggest a nice spot between Bruny Island and Marion Bay and it's ideal conditions for learning? I'm 78kg and have a 10m 2016 Naish Pivot.

What's your favorite spot?

Hey,
I started kiting a bit over a year ago. So in the same boat really
A few of us meet up at honey wood drive, pipe clay lagoon, on the southerly sea breezes.

Ive hear the inside of southarm neck is popular in northern winds

Im more of a windsurfer so i dont know much else

I'm located in Sandy Bay, so anytime the wind is coming from the north, I'm usually at Nutgrove Beach. It's the only place I've kited so far in Tasmania, so I'd love to go to some other spots.

I didn't even know Nutgrove Beach existed! That's much closer to home than all of the other spots on the eastern side of the river.

If you're considering trying South Arm, remember to check the tides first. I got there on Saturday at low tide and it was just sand flats for ages .
