What's the best wind direction for here se/ne ? Low tide or all tides? Zero swell outside cos Fraser? Thanks
SE is the predominant wind direction and great for Elliott as it comes clean off the bay (virtually no gusts / spoil) and over sand to make nice flatwater sections . NE means you're likely out in the ocean instead of the river mouth and pretty much the same as anywhere else on the Bundy coast (I'd prefer some other beaches on a NE, but happy to do Elliott if there's a few out).
There is certainly swell, but pretty gutless if you're used to Sunny Coast / Gold coast exposed beaches. Some prefer the waves and there's a fair variety on offer, but I don't know if I'd travel to Elliott with a pure eye on surfing. The flat water and clean, consistent wind is where it's at.
Any tide works, but mid to high tides give more options. Big high tides opens up the lagoon for some memorable days. Low tide means a sandy walk to get to the good stuff.
