Police have found taken possession of a Nobel T 5, red, orange yellow and green, 10 sq mt. kite, found floating 150 mts offshore at Largs bay at 3:00 PM.
A search is currently underway to try and locate any kite-surfer in the water in case they are in trouble. Anyone with knowledge of the incident or the whereabouts of the owner is asked to urgently contact the water police on 8242 3466.

Sorry I just saw this. That was me! I've contacted them already.

Long story short, I had a massive bar failure: Uncommanded deployment of the main safety release... And a second later the safety lead failed and let go too!

The interesting thing is, I actually did all my checks before I launched, and everything looked fine. I'm going to arrange to get the kite back (when i'm back in Adelaide) to have a closer look at what happened.
