Hi all,
so I went out for a session on my birthday in Maui and lost my board ( happy birthday)! I had a 2015 shin monk 131 x 40 and absolutely loved this board. Due to the emotional trauma of losing a $700 new board I am going to get a second hand one this time. I am looking for boards that people believe are equal to or better than the shin monk range? Mainly looking for a board that has a nice thin edge and handles chop well with good upwind. Any suggestions would be great thanks!

not my style of board but the way everyone raves, are sure you dont want to find another shin? Sounds like you were happy with it.

Why change something that seems to work so well for what you want?

check the buy and sell section most shinn dealer's in Australia will more then likely have their 2018 ex-demo gear up for sale or near going up for sale. If you live in West Aus Action Sports WA have their ex-demo gear up for sale as well as a decent range of superseded shinn gear :)

Sorry for your loss. I have a 2014 that will never be sold. Mark really got this one right and hasn't changed it much over the years. As the 131x40 is on the smaller side for what most people are riding today, I think you'll find someone who has an old one sitting around and might be persuaded to sell it. Perhaps post a WTB in the Buy and Sell?

2015 monk ... wasn't worth 700 so don't be too upset

monk has a unique feel that can't be matched by any other board on the market. So if you want that shin feel get the same board or at lest one in the range.
