Hello all, just trying to find out if there are any north replacement fins for a 2014 north nugget. One of my fins is about to break. Cant find anything online for north fins in australia. Can you use any other fins with this board? otherwise it will be an asymetrical thruster soon. thanks

I had the same problem on my whip and north weren't to helpful. Just use any future fins in there. A lot stronger than the north ones as well. I ended up scoring a set of Jimmy Lewis future base fins real cheap and they work well

We have been using Scarfini futures. FX 2. Can order online and pretty quick. Nice fins.

thanks for the advice, scarfini look good will def get a set. Funny that there are no fins for north kiteboards, you would think that kiteboard sb fins are broken much more often than paddle sb fins

True, but once you have used the scarfinis you won't really care. We usually change them out for Scarfinis and keep the Norths as spares.
Not sure about other brands.

What's so good about the fins? How do they improve the board? Looking to improve the wave riding of it if that would help.

Being a windsurfer , you will get that the improvement is the same difference having bad or good quality fins on your windsurfing board . Can make a huge difference.

Cracking throughout the North fins seems quite normal for all the north boards I have had (and friends ) so far .... as you can imagine there is a lot of twisting and pressure on the fins and they don't seem to stand up to it very well and this will effect overall performance, not to mention the actual design of the fin.

It just all feels and performs better all round with the better quality fins. We have also used the Scarfini FX1 ...it is much looser and better on bigger waves.

Not to say that other good quality brands will also be a big improvement . Scarfini is just who we use the moment.

I've been running the Rasta quads for a couple of years now and they seem to hold up to the beating. The flex the bamboo inserts give them are unreal especially for fast turns off the top .

Hi Guys, A followup on the recommendations for Scarfini Fx2-Quad for a 2014 Nugget. Have tried them and they are very good.

Not that I'm particularly good, but the board works really well, and feels faster upwind - although that might be purely my imagination. Anyhow very happy with them.

Got them online from Wetfins, who had them to me very quickly.

Cheers
