Old thread I know .. just on single strut Aluula concept .. don't think they need to reduce weight further with single strut. Current 10m 12m roams 3 struts stay in the air in wind so light you don't have the power to actually get up on foil .. so power is the limiting factor, not whether kite is flyable.

Best tell that to all the guys having a ball on single struts - wishing they were lighter.. and not swimming.

The roam is not a powerful kite either... my A flite falls out of the sky too.

It's the lulls you need any kite to stay up in with bottom end kiting..
If I was stuck up shot creek.. give me a lighter single any day.

For the life of me I have no idea what you are on about ! Horses and carts ? Is it an OR slag off ?

Lets put it simply because you pretend to have no idea why your on a 3 strut kite - because of its light Aluula weight and performance is better than a 5 strut or other brands heavier material kites.
Thats called Research and Development - the same reason we dont use 2 line bars anymore.

If "ANY" brand including Ocean Rodeo develops a great performing Aluula 1 strut kite - it will make your heavy 3 strut obsolete.
Technology is a wonderful thing isnt it

Agree with that...... and I'd point out that there is quite a big difference in weight between the roam aluula and the juice DLAB...

If there was a juice DLAB 14 meter - you could approximate in the absence of there being an actual direct size comparison available - it would weigh in between the 13 and the 15 or about 2.9kg

Roam 14 = 2.5kg.

DLAB alulula 14m is 16% heavier..............................

If you average out the roam instead - 12 and 14 meter to guess a 13 meter weight..... the roam 13 would be 2.4kg Vs 2.73 in the juice 13.

DLAB aluula juice 13 - 14% heavier..

I'd rather have a kite that can sit in the air. My Flysurfer soul (10m) can get me up on the foil in less wind than it can hang in the air.

Just last session I had to spend 20 minutes removing sea weed from all the bridles because it stalled just at the waters edge walking back through the surf from the deep water. Was fine riding the foil but couldn't fly the kite actively enough to get all the way to the beach before it dropped. That kite weighs around 2kg too but its pretty slow so saving the stalls is more tricky.
