Hi there, here are some thoughts about dangerous situations while kiteboarding. I hope we can learn something from getting more awareness about the accidents. Kiteboarding is an amazing sport and it's super sad when you hear stories about fellow kiteboarders getting injured.
I hope my video helps beginners as well as advanced riders to avoid such a situations
Nice little video, I think you got your points across well.
A few constructive criticism from someone who has worked in film and tv for over 30 years
1) Consider using a TelePrompter App or similar device. it will save a lot of umm's particularly on such a wordy video
2) Shoot the opening and closing at a different size or angle and do the main body of the dialogue a few times at different sizes. The jump cut at the end was a bit harsh on the eye. A quick fade would have been better.
3) A little long people have a short attention span try to keep it under 10 min. A few more cut always would also have been nice
Your videographer or filmer should have guided you on these points ( I would not call them a Cinematographer )
Hope this is received with the well
Regards
Ian
Hi Karolina and welcome to the seabreeze forum!!!
Sooooo good to have access to the knowledge of world champions, so TIA....
I was wondering if you could talk some more about the accident you mentioned with the kite death looping....it has been a topic on here quite a few times due to the safety leash being attached to the rear of your harness....
Cheers and Thanks Again!!

You should change you avatar to represent your 30 years/tears in the Film & TV industry Ian. Well done. Hopefully Karolina's next video edit is a little more polished thanks to your suggestions.

Kite death looping is pretty tough topic because when you are in such a situation most of the time there is no way out.... So better do everything you can to avoid such a situation! Definitely helps to attach your leash to front of your harness but if you get tangled in your lines, the leash won't help you... My 2 accidents that I mention in this video were pretty scary to be hones, because there was nothing I could do at the time. The one when my line broke, I lost conscious as soon as I got lift upside down, and was too powered to release safety. Since that time I try to kite in 30+ when the wind is off shore...

One tip i have learnt, (i think from Christian on here). As i do a lot of self launching i only hook into the chicken loop when my kite is powered at front of window so i can check my line are clear. Hook in and raise kite at front of window. Very conservative butlooks better than getting dragged into a tree. The point of just holding the chicken loop is all to do is let go if it tangled and dangerously powered due twisted lines.

I am very glad you don't need to take any advices from this video. It only takes one mistake to get injured. Knowing more about other accidents, and safety system can definitely help many kiteboarders. If I can help at least 1 person out there, I will be happy about it :)

Are you kidding mate? She's 3x Kiteboarding World Champion 2x TRIPLE-S Champion.
No doubt that she shreds 10x better than most blokes on here.
Karolina is one of the nicest pro-kiteboarders that I have meet over the years.
She dedicates a fair chunk of her spare time to helping other kiters progress.
