my new kite Ozone Catalyst has being lying idle in Australia for over 12 months, I was only learning when work took me overseas. It arrived in the Philippines yesterday, and today I headed to the beach to take all of your advice on the waterstarts. Then I couldn't get my chicken hook to lock properly. I've attached the pictures to show how the locking mechanism won't slide down and lock in, it's like the line inside is too short or something, when I brought the kite it was always difficult too, but not to this extent. What to do? There are no kite shops here!

This photo shows how far I can get the cover down the steel tongue won't lie flat

The tongue has rotated 180...
Twist it around and it will work as it should.

Thanks so much, I feel like such an idiot. It's all good, I appreciate you taking the time to send the pic.

The latest Ozone chicken loop design does away with this system. The latest has simpler push to lock seatbelt style locker. Yours is fine once your used to it but if you prefer the newer simpler style the chicken loops can be bought separately as a retrofit part.

It can't actually mate, you need to update the entire depower and QR. Completely different system.

Anyway thanks everyone, I turned it around and it works perfectly now. Even if I feel like a goose

Very, but I discovered a new frustration today. I'm living in a very isolated place in the Philipines at the moment, there are no other kiters in the area, school holidays just started, I pumped the kite up at the beach and it almost caused a riot! No one had ever seen one before!

A remote coastal village in Negros. Yes good wind, it was around 20 knots again today and the 12 Metre Catalyst was really easy to handle.

I'd post pictures, but I'm the only foreigner here, and want to keep it that way!

Are you in Mui ne? I'm considering pissing off to Phan rang seeing how the wind looks light here for approx a week, everyone I speak to says the wind will be ok there, might go the day after tomorrow
