I don't know if this had been mentioned.

Your selling points are so absurd eppo i dont know where to start. I can launch a kite anywhere you can fit a sup foilboard. Wind is flukey?!? What like in an inland creek lined by wattle gums?! Nonsense

Cashed up type? This is australia everyones a cashed up type. People buy cars with centrelink cash in this land matey. Cartons of rum for 80 and a deck a dieing brians for 40

Anyone with a windsurfing background seen these the first time around and they laughed then, but i bet its not so funny this time round more disrespectful then funny. Why do we have to be so gimmicky? You dont see football trying to push cubes on people every decade. I cant think of any other sport thats like this. When there is very clear and obvious innovations to be made (parakite)

Next youll be telling me its the way of the future cause you wont hit your head on anything hard.

Its the worst of both worlds as often is the case when you blend 2 things and slowly you massage out the kinks and make it better or on par. But at end of the day what does it even do?!? Wheres the benefit to useing it? What can it do that nothing else can? What problem is it solveing?

I honestly believe waimans drug addled mind invented a far superiour device that does everything better then a inflatable windwing. And its hands free just strap the carrot to your back and your done. Even Takeshi's castle had hands free version
Just a giant playing card strapped to the contestants backs and they had to play a game of football with some giant industrial fans blowing them all over the pitch.

The sad part of all this is it made business sense. Low cost make no development costs materials dont need to be sourced etc etc etc thats all the entire excercise is.

Maybe ive been watching to much Black mirror lately but i would not be surprised if it was just a giant excercise in learning where the dumbest/most susceptible to advertiseing customers were.

someone knows how to hit the nitro button

If I think about progression:

Kitesurfing : handles lighter wind than a Windsurfer

SUP : good for a exercise when it's not windy and your too fat for a surfboard

Foil : great for small waves and lighter wind than kite or windsurf

Wingsurf : slower than windsurfers or kite. If you don't foil it's probably quicker to paddle in < 10 knots

So advantages?

No lines. No mast. Compact. Light. Fast setup. No need for a harness. Much less beach space needed for launching and landing. You don't need a quiver of them.

You can easily relaunch it in little wind. SUP is badly affected by not all that much wind. Wingsurfer makes that annoying wind an advantage.

SUP foil needs surf or shedloads of wind for a downwinder. Wingsurfer gets it going in less wind, doesn't need surf.

Arguably kiteboarding is better than windsurfing, and kite foiling is better than both of them. Each one makes the earlier sport obsolete to an extent. I can't see wingsurfing replacing any of the existing sports. I can see it making SUP and SUP foil a bit more versatile and useful.

Using the 80/20 rule, 80% of the time you're going to be fine riding whatever you normally ride. Kites and foils expand the 80% and give you more time and better quality time on the water. Wingsurfers won't impact the 80% for the bulk of us, but they might let us make the 20% bit smaller.

here's an idea: if you think it's ****, don't try it.

kiters have been considered the rollerbladers of the ocean for so long that some of us are clearly desperate to pass the baton to someone else.

Kite complete for $1200 including bar and lines? Do tell from where? Most kites with bars are $2k plus now.

You don't kite on a board or a foil? Most people looking at this have a sup foil already or will bolt their kite foil to a sup.
Not cheap but cheaper than a kite or a windsurfer set up.

Sorry my bad I thought we were in the kitesurfing section.

And yes I have a foil, but for this thingy I would need a fat wing and a sup.

So still cheaper to get new kite for me. Than getting into this thingy maybe in a couple of years when they are cheaper.

And most people in this forum have bars and harnesses etc etc.

I tried kite foiling waves but kept getting overpowered when on the wave. This might solve that issue. Time will tell. Like this

I don't doubt it will be fun to try. But like the concept of riding a jet ski. always thought I might like a go, but wondered what more to do with it once ive had a go. So never felt I wanted to own one.

Who giving a flying F@#$ what people think, as long as you have fun what ever you are doing who cares as long as no one is getting hurt, take your blinkers off.

I agree the price is a bit steep considering its a smaller kite with less bits but if you have the cash its all relative.

Saying that, Moti Levi is converting old kites into wings, this makes perfect sense to me to re-purpose a kite that is otherwise useless. I've sent him an old kite that is in very good nick but could not sell as it had other issues such as fall out the sky.

So you may see me out on the water having fun or may not if it does not work out but for the price its worth the try.
