Moving to London for work for 18 months.
Anyone have any favourite wavekiting destinations within ryanair reach from London?
Recommend to bring the whole quiver (5/7/9)?
Hit up all the english duotone riders youtube channells theyll have theyre homespots where they spend a week every years and it looks miserable as hell.
You do know you can buy cocaine from other places right? Why did you go to london? Corgi groomer?
you'll get some occasionally decent storm swell with gusty frontal wind on the english south coast, especially towards cornwall, and the south welsh coast. plenty of uk kiters do weekend road trips from london.
otherwise it's only a short flight/drive to france and portugal for proper swell.
take a couple of bigger kites; you'll be wishing for a 13....
A road trip in the UK is a head ache compared to Australia even though distances are not that great.18months is not that long a sentence in the ass end of England.
Your best using as a base to go from
easy jet fly to an enormous
Amount of destinations throughout the uk and europe
book early and it's so cheap
easycar too , I used to nip to euro destinations regular ,
an example flew the wife and kids return from John Lennon Liverpool to nice cote d Azur
return and myself back with them, ? 126 inc taxes for a ski trip and hired a little Mercedes-Benz's for ? 28 per day inc ins, west coast Ireland and tiree island in Scotland, rosnyger in north wales, Cornwall area, hauling island
Mate kite Achils island in Mayo west coast of Ireland. Strandhill is another spot keel beach in Achill is epic and only basking sharks (they don't bite ) ??
Cornwall and Wales have some epic conditions for wave kiting. Even around Bournemouth isn't far from London could be really fun. I even kited Germany and had some fun conditions.
Get a seriously good 5/4 wettie.

Yup, easy access with car and both destinations are great. Ireland also but need a ferry and more time. Wales is my pick.

Coffin rocks spot, basking sharks suck so like a great white giving you a blow job
For waves out of the UK a couple of suggestions - Guincho near Lisbon has good waves though wind is localised and can be a little flukey. Canary Islands, Essaouira or Agadir in Morocco will all have waves, wind and direct flights within the 3-4hour range of UK. Think about Sal in Cape Verde also, though a longer flight and probably not Ryanair. At the right time of the year you may find waves west of Tarifa on Spains south coast accessed from Malaga or Gibralter. Quiver of 5,7,9 sounds good for the region.
I'm originally from Cornwall having moved to WA 4 years ago........
Some great wave spots and due to the land topography you have both north and south facing coasts quite close (15 mins between the two down my old turf).
Hit up Lawrence at Ocean High Kiteboarding/Lodey Kite Loft (I worked there for 7 years)
Local wave spots to checkout include Gwithian/godrevy, Marazion, sennen, praa sands, perranporth and multiple others. It's a drive but worth it on a good forecast - I survived on 6, 9 quiver for waveriding but a backup larger kite will be a session saver!!!
