Hello,
I am running an old quiver of 2014 Dice in 7, 9 and 12 M
7 and 12 are still in great condition but 9 could be updated

Is there any point trying to run a new 2021 9m duotone dice kite with my 2014 trust bar (24m lines - 4 lines) or am I ridiculous?

I won't be able to fork out much more than $1000 for new gear at the moment so unlikely to be able to upgrade kite + bar...

Thanks for your insights

Hi Renaud,

your biggest concern with your old bar should be the safety system. I'm pretty sure that a 4-line 2014 trust bar would use a dual front line safety system.

Most don't know this but since 2018 all bars on the market have to have a single front line safety system. This ensures your kite with fully flag out in any emergency and this could be a life saver.

If you have a dual front line safety system, it's definitely worth upgrading your bar to a modern one for safety reasons only.

If you don't know what I'm talking about, here is a video that explains this in details: www.kitebud.com.au/kitesurfing-online-courses/kitesurfing-safety-systems/
