Naish boxer 12 m

Hi everyone I gave a naish boxer it says pump up to 10.5 psi I think the pump stops at about 9 seems to fly fine at 9 are they being a bit rediculous 10.5

I think all the single strut kites rely on super rigid leading edge for their stability. I had a 12m LF Solo and used to pump that way harder than my 5 strut Switchblade. Couldn't tell you what psi it was since I don't have a notoriously inaccurate gauge on my pump.

Agree they need a lot but pretty hard to hand pump 10.5 my hand pump won't the alpha and the mono don't require any more psi than a 3 strut just the boxer

The bigger you are, the more force you can easily apply on the kite so the more pressure you'll need to pump up to.

E.g. If you are a 55kg ballerina, then you probably won't notice the difference between 7 and 10 psi*
Alternatively if you are a 120kg worlds strongest person contestant then 7 psi will feel like a floppy bag and you'll want at least 11psi

(* except in extreme conditions where you should have changed to a smaller size)

Bear in mind that not all pumps are accurate so you are better off doing a squeeze test to measure hoop stress anyway.

The air gauges are rubbish. The best and accurate way to tell the leading edge is as firm as possibly be, is to do a "wing bend" test. Grab one of the wings about 1/4 back from the tip and you should not be able to bend it too easily. Some bend will give, but not much.

Yeah I know that but I'm just saying u can't hand pump nearly 11 psi into what they recommend to hand pump in to the boxer I put about 8 to 9 is fine we all know the flick and bend the wingtip etc I'm just commenting on how the other single struts are under 8 recommended pressure and boxer 10.5 unless you use electric

I agree also, I think you may have made this point previously, Naish are recommending increased inflate pressures but most pumps struggle to go up to the higher PSI - I fly Naish but use the Duotone two stage pump - works pretty well. A more accurate pressure gauging system needs to be developed IMO

I have an 8m kite I pump to 12psi, why do you think 11 isn't possible?

Brie kites Maybe try it on the 12m boxer 2020 see how u go what pump u using naish
