I just spent some time in Maui. After a day of complaining to my wife that she doesn't love me coz all she does is kite and never stays on the beach and films me #metoo .
Honestly, its a pretty crap video, average kiting, poor editing, with the highlight is some 10 year old reggae music done by an Orthodox pot smoking Jew. Sorry I didn't include any driving to the beach time in the first half. However long it goes for ( I dunno, I couldn't be bothered to sit though it all ), you wont get that part of you life back again.
I really like this video. It reminds me of the crappy videos I used to make that noone ever watched before I lost my gopro. I was going to post one here but my seabreeze uploader doesn't seem to be working.
Hi bjw,
If you aren't going to try and win an Oscar, have a look at Filmore Wondershare. It's what I use, its, cheap and has most of what you need to do a pretty decent job as well as an auto function which will throw together a movie with the click of a button (it wont be any good, but it works).
I used to use Adobe Premier Pro but it's too complex for weekend wariors and quite expensive. There are lots of small and easy software, but the Filmora one works pretty well and is easy and intuitive to use.

I liked how you did that thing with the thing and then that thing happened
That's what my wife said, then she became pregnant.
Now she doesn't say it anymore.
Cool raw video. Love it..... and a big thankyou for not boring the tits of all of us by posting 5 minutes of driving to the location.

On another note. Can anyone recommend a good video editor to download? My editing won't win me a logie without the help of Tom Gleeson at this point.
You've nailed some great tricks there. That's the most important thing.

Thanks for the advice! I actually ended up downloading a thing called DaVinci Resolve. I'll give it a go down the track after I get the time on the water again.
Now no kiting before 11am or if there are snorkelers or canoes or whales or turtles or you haven't changed your undies in a few days and watch the scetchy launch site on kite beach other than that have fun
Was there late June, fken awesome fun, 30c and 30 - 40 knts everyday, dont get that in Vic, lucky I took a 7, the 11 am kitebeach area rule is fine as the wind usually only kicks in then anyway, yes launch can be sketchy and most kiters there run lines upwind to launch leaving lines all over the beach, go with the flow

How did I not see you S62? I didn't meet any Aussies over there at all kiting. Saw a blue ozone on the water, thought it could be an Aussie but probably a kiwi..
Next year count me in again for sure, even if the Territorians join.

Am heading to Maui second week of April, planning to book the Maui Seaside Hotel for accom, which seems to be pretty average but close to kite beach. Any advice for this first timer to Maui kiting would be much appreciated?

Take a small kite, buy beer from supermarket, visit Walmart at least once and drive on other side of road
Do you kite any wave locations over there?
Check out Lanes next to Hookipa, or if there is swell Kite Beach has a bunch of waves. Also Kehei on the swell can be good.

Do not go out at Lanes if there is more than 10 guys out. It's a local rule that everyone follows. All the times I was there there was nobody or just a couple of guys. Getting in and out is tricky, the keyhole in and out must be timed really well. Fantastic once you are out though.
