I gave it a go at the end of my session. Definitely my favourite app now as I got my first 19m jump
Happy to forward back to backs against woo if that helps as I had both running at the time. Might be my poverty spec 245 but it sort of seemed to crash at the end (10 minute session) and I have no idea how to access the intermediate jumps in Garmin app although all the GPS and heart rate stuff is there.
Seems good for a beta. Jump height a bit inconsistent (once high but often less than 1m). Hangtime seemed relatively close though.
Good work!
Thanks for the link, and the work you put into this. Going to try it this weekend... Although the only Air i get at the moment is the accidental air....
0.2.6 Released.
Three crash bugs fixed, added developer tools, detect sensitivity changed, minor jump height calculation change. Still expecting mid Dec jumpt height major update
I gave it a go again yesterday, it didn't crash but it doesn't really detect jump anymore at first I thought it was because I jumped during the calibrating phase but then I stopped/started again waited for it to finish just riding, it detect 1-2 jumps and then just keep displaying my speed.

When I used it on the weekend (and I left the water a total of ZERO times) I now have a record of 2.1M high jump and a 50.1m long jump and a 9 sec hang time.....

Did you punch the air in triumph at any point

I looked at the data........ somebody was doing this :)

In all seriousness I also experienced 11 fake jumps on my last outings in 6 - 7 kts, due to my almost continous crazy pumping up and falling back into the water. I've since released a new version with a new gameplan on how to filter out those types of fake jumps. It will both increase jump detection, and also decrease the fake jumps, but may require a little further tweeking once I get some more data back & user feedback.
Version 0.4.3 Beta released,
False jump detection improvements, along with CGM end of session statistics bug fixes.
Jump Height Improvement update coming later this month
Nice.. I've been waiting this to come so I can buy a Garmin watch :)
I can create an mobile app to see jumps and statistics and history data after the session. And a login with social element can be added to share with friends, tag place and follow other people if you want :)
Connect me at my email donvasilev at yahoo :)
I wouldn't rush out to buy one just for this app, as it's still in beta - and there is a small chance, a small small chance that I don't get there.
Having said that, my other app just just about everything under the sun except the kitesurf jump heights.
Called Sail Racer, and allready has post session summary data in the Garmin Connect Mobile app stlye
Time for a new years update folks.
I'm getting close. Hangtime is pretty much optimized, and I need about 1 more sessions' data to complete the Kite Jump height.
What do you think? Would you use it?
Since I already have woos I will prob just stick with that but if I was starting out and just wanted to track my jumps and progress with just a watch I reckon I would use ir until I got to the point where I wanted to spend the extra cash and get a woo (or two)
If WOO is the "golden" standard, then you are putting it to shame! A general device without dedicated HW, "one-man army" of SW developers achieving similar results/accuracy in couple of months as an entire company over years span and multiple iterations of the HW! Amazing! Thank you!

I hope I can get the jump heights as accurate.... moderately confident at this stage.
The only app that does watch only height measurements is the Surffr app. And you need to pay for the pro subscription. It's good value and it allows your Apple watch to measure all aspects of your kite session. Soon to come on wear Os. Wont be on garmon for a while. Check out the website

Incorrect.
My app is watch only, and that is any Garmin watch.
Here is my latest comparison with the WOOs :)
I would compare with Surfr, but I don't have an applewatch. I find them too heavy on the power use compared to garmin for outdoor stuff.
Blue is my Garmin watch app, the green lines are the 2 x WOO's (One is WOO1, one is WOO3). Jump height on the left, jump number along the bottom
