Leo did a great job and missed out after his competitor nailed one last great trick with seconds to go.

Pleased to see him give it a crack.

But there is daylight between bottom competitors and the top eight. At 19, James may well be numero uno in a year or two.

Yeh its disappointing to not see airstyle incorporated in kiting waveriding..eg front or back roll bottom turn and re-entry etc..windsurfers waveride freestyle...and any very good male surfer can do an air reverse or better on a wave without the assistance of a kite. Having a kite appears to handicap freestyle waveriding doesn't it ?

Does James post and speak from the 3rd person or is he just fair dinkum?
Good luck to him and being a humble champion.. Obviously he wasn't or isn't into playing the trumpet..
Go Aussie go!

The Oz leg of this tour will be at Pt Danger, Torquay 12-16 December. Initially thought is was about waveriding and theyd be disappointed with Danger where its rarely over 2 ft, but as per Brazil event if its about aerial tricks as opposed to pure waveriding, that style will suit Danger if the wind blows.

If they are only doing air tricks...Why not have it at St kilda ?

You can throw your video edit up here Eppo, keen to see it

like Tone said, top 8 have insane skills and are a leap ahead of the rest of the field - personally can't wait to see them

Keahi and Matchu in waves though - just superb

Knew someone would bite, you horizontally bound wave riders are such precious little darlings...

Coming from someone whose dabbled a fair bit in the air style arena ... that strapless SB Ariel work is insanely hard. Those guys are incredible.

Resembles Short point at Mambo...the go to place when Merimbula main beach is too small for waveriding on a noreast. Yes is a great comp site .

Had the pleasure to meet and hang out with James when he was over here last time. Such a down to Earth guy, approachable and very talented young rider and a fantastic ambassador for Duotone. No doubt he will be a regular on the podiums of such events.

To be fair, I've met some of the North international team and they are all good, humble and extremely talented individuals.

Awesome!
