Some nice surf-orientated products surfacing.

FYI - The LF Impulse wing is a 25 inch wide version of the Cloud 9 surf-foil wings (which are either 24 or 27 inches wide). The Cloud 9 wings should be back on sale from their web-site in late July (new release or sold out).

A 100kg mate of mine who owns the smaller and faster LF Thruster setup, took the Impulse for a 2.5 hour kite-foil and reported that it was a fun wing that was slow and never touched down during transitions. He also took a 2m? smaller kite size compared to what he'd use on his Thruster and had plenty of power... sounds encouraging.

Am looking forward to hearing more about the Axis foil and board.

Thumbs Up

Got out today for the first time. Started ok then the wind picked up and I was powered enough that I got off the foil and onto the TT and was having fun woosting. Should have gone out on a smaller kite but the weather station was initially reporting just 12 knots so I thought I would be ok on a 10m Switchblade. I was wrong

My goals with foiling is to noodle around in lighter wind with as little kite as possible and use whatever swell there is to float around.

It's perfect for me. Silky-smooth, instantly on the foil, glides so well the kite becomes a nuisance especially in the gybes :D Catches swell nicely but isn't aggressive when that lift comes on.

Wind was a bit much so I spent as much time thinking about the kite and being carful where I put it as I did riding. And took care not to let it run away and build up uncontrollable speed, but there was no noticeable change in trim across the speed range. Had a half-hearted attempt at a speed run but hit a fish and got spooked.

Not sure about the 900mm mast, a 750 is on the way and I enjoyed that size in NZ... We'll see when I'm not survival kiting.

Through the hour I rode the foil, the wind picked up and I was soon fully trimmed and sheeted out just trying not to get lifted off the foil. Must have 20 knots by then so the 10m was way too big. I probably could have gone with an 8m at the start...and needed a 6m at the end.

So far so good
