Looking to move on from a Slingshot hoverglide (stuck on 30" mast) to something a bit longer to help with Port Phillip bay chop and something a bit quicker - possibly interested in racing at some point.

Mosses for sure,i have the race set up and love it.changed my front wing to learn those hard turns.wings aren't overly expensive and easily changed with a big range to choose from.call in to the Zu Boardsports and have a chat with ivon

Also depends what you mean by racing, if your trying to go upwind downwind, you need something with a long mast, and high aspect ratio foil...
If your just going downwind / across you can get away with something smaller
That is a great price for that setup, if its all in good nick, I doubt very much you will find better value.
I ride almost the same setup, have run aground a few time, into sharks and marker bouys and only need to fix a few scratches to keep me on the water
Dont forget the nationals for foil racing is on at Brighton yacht club towards the end of January, you should see the locals out there most days its windy
F-one foilboard 156x49cm with the IC6 850 foil has treated me well. I have been amazed at how versatile this foiling setup has been, since I started foiling in may this year it has taken me through:
-First lesson towing behind a boat
-Learning how to foil with a kite
-Touch down gybes
-Foil gybes
-Touch down tacks
-full foil tacks
-jumps and backrolls
-very competitive in Perth Kite Racing Formula 2 (non pro racing equipment)
-Can use it fully powered up with a big foil kite and hit 50km/h or use it with a small pump up kite and have a super chill cruise session
I cannot recommend it highly enough as the perfect platform for someone looking to accelerate their kite foiling journey, I don't think their are any other foils around that can be used as a learner foil and also perform so well at an intermediate level.
Today I used a proper race foil for the first time, a Mikes Lab Bullet 3 with a BU racing board. First 30 mins were sketchy but after that it was natural, hitting foil tacks and gybes!!!! so It would seem that at least for me the f-one free ride setup worked very well for transitioning into racing.
If you want to buy a second hand one mine is now for sale.

i bought a Mako V1 from Marv when it was knew. It was a good foil - fast, strong and rode like it was on rails - very locked in feeling. At the time the Spotz 3 was probably its big competitor, maybe Banga (2017) too. The Mako was the one piece design that they all seemed to evolve towards for maximum stiffness and strength.Mine didnt have the 110 mast however, im guessing 100cm from memory. I havnt touched a race foil since 2017 so am out of touch with the latest generation. For the right price i think you'd have fun on the Mako. Enata ended up buying our Banga I think and their foils were pretty sweet.
Ha if you wanna get into race you need to learn to luv a foil kite!
having said that the same gear gets some great height and hang time for jumps ;)
