Hey Peeps,

I noticed this morning that North have announced their new wing set for the Speedster. Gull wing front wing and a redesigned rear stabilizer. 5 knots faster and more manoevreable. The Speedster GT combo

North have also announced two new boards : The Hybrid which looks like a Pro Whip with footstrap inserts and foil mount inserts making it a 2 in 1 setup. Looks sweet.

They have also announced a snub nosed Free foil board which although looks ugly, I think it may be a good little board for travel and freeride.

Now that's more like it. I may consider one of these now that they've removed the little scalpels from the wing tips.

DM can you confirm that the new North foil wings are compatible with a 2017 speedster?

I've got the the 2017 with the winglets and have no complaints at all, (have had a blast learning on it), but if the performance is significantly better then i imagine it wouldn't cost too much to get a new front and rear wing.

I just don't see myself considering a foil board these days that only has a single foil mounting position.

The North pro foil, the board from last year, has a track mount and it's still in the line up for 2018. Good looking board too.

The thin one doesn't have a track because it can support it without reinforcement, which would add a lot of weight.

Hi Probabli,

i am am pretty certain the GT wings will bolt straight on to the existing Fuselage. In fact, the Fanatic SUP wing, the Flow S1 also bolts straight on too.

@emmafoils, the North Profoil is an excellent board and has plenty of adjustment for various foils. The Freefoil is for freeride and learning on the North Speedster. It's balanced for that set. I ride the znorth Pro Foil board with the Slingshot Ghost Whisperer foil and it allows loads of adjustment and rides really well.

Out of interest why not? The Hybrid board looks like it has 3 footstrap positions (which I'm guessing is about 6-7cm of adjustment as it looks nearly the same as the width of the bolt spacing on the bottom which is 90mm). Isn't that enough?

Thanks DM, i might have to look into the Flow S1 next summer after the winter swells die. Do you know if you can use the same rear wing or you need to buy a new one too? I imagine the rear wing from the speedster would be a little undersized and not produce enough down force to balance the larger front wing of the S1.
