As far as I know the vaccine(s) have prevented me catching Covid and passing it on. I haven't caught it yet as far as I know, so does that prove anything or just that I have been lucky despite people around me catching it?

My whole family is triple-vaxxed and they've all caught COVID, some twice, except for me. I would say 75% of my friends have had COVID, mostly double or triple-vaxxed. You could be one of those people genetically disposed to not catching it, just as I seem to perhaps be. I actually TRIED to catch it so that I could have it at the same time as the rest of my family, since if I caught it later, they are all in jobs where they can't work if another member of the household has it. Then again, maybe the swine flu I had has given me super corona virus immunity - I haven't had a decent cold or flu since.

Tried to catch it off my unvaxed son 5mnths after vax ,wife and other two kids not vaxed did'nt catch it either.
Caught it 2mnths after booster no idea where from .Gave to missus a couple days later vaxed for a month.
All other three kids unvaxed didnt get it.
Not sure the vax did anything as far stopping transmission or protecting anyone. No hurry to have another .

It's easy to forget that Omicron and on have been relatively benign viruses. From that perspective its easier to say that additional protection from a vaccine may or may not be worth it, but by then we had the luxury of a virus that was easier on the unvaccinated than the earlier strains.

You are ignoring my main point of the population being coerced into getting vaccinated on the premise that it would slow transmission when there hadn't even been any tests of the effectiveness of the vaccine to do that.

Not sure about OZ but in France we were told from the beginning it wouldn't stop you getting it or spreading it. It was simply to stop you getting so sick you needed to go to hospital. There was loads of publicity about it.
My wife's best friend is a doctor and her and her colleagues are definately noticing lots of weird stuff since COVID. Can you every proove it was the vaccination? Even if you did we all had to sign a waiver in France.

Interesting. Does that mean that, in France, nobody was prevented from attending school, entering their workplace, or otherwise discriminated against if they were unvaccinated?

Which means the waiver was signed under duress and therefore could not reasonably be considered a legitimate document. It remains a crime against humanity.
There's plenty banging on about the benefit of hindsight but the truth is we had very few cases reported globally before Professor Ioannidis compiled a brilliantly comprehensive review of the virus, with very close to actuality predictions and a sensible set of mitigation measures that would have saved the world from this absolute mess.

Ahh, the old 20/20 hindsight with no need to actually prove it would work. Good one.

If they got the above wrong how are we to trust them to get other factors right ?

They didn't get wrong, it was an outright lie since they've been saying it right from the beginning even though the Pfizer vaccine hadn't even been tested for it's ability to prevent transmission. I'm guessing a lot of the time it was said with good intentions, but they shouldn't just be making stuff like that up. It makes you wonder what else is made up.

Something else I wonder.... just how many people does anyone know that have had a serious health impact from a conventional vaccine such as the measles or polio vaccines. etc? I don't know a single person, yet I know of plenty with the COVID vaccine. It simply cannot be said that it is 'SAFE' in the same way that you can make that statement with regular vaccines. Combine that with the fact that the COVID vaccine wasn't tested for its ability to stop transmission means that there was no basis for forcing people to take the COVID shots. It should have been left as a personal decision and people should have been given the true facts to make that decision for themselves.

I do not know anyone who has had issues with the vaccine. Must be lucky. Everyone I know is vaccinated, must be in my line of work. More issues with long Covid.

What is the CT here? Who is getting something out of it? 95% vaccinated and Covid is under control. Be happy.

Everything is so PC now if there was an issue with the vaccine the WOKE people would be right on to it like tobacco, meth, alcohol and enjoying yourself.

If everyone in your line of work is vaccinated how are they having issues with long covid? Are you saying that they got vaccinated then got covid and now have long covid issues ? or did the vaccine weaken there immune system ?

The sentence below we now know isn't true as being vaccinated does not help against transmission. "Being up-to-date with vaccinations, including booster doses, not only helps protect us but also helps protect others around us from the worst effects of COVID-19."

If they got the above wrong how are we to trust them to get other factors right ?

For the amount of time you spend on this forum I reckon you staying home and being isolated is the reason you haven't caught it. You likely live in a remote community as well which has helped.

But yes more than likely it's your triple vaccination that's prevented you from getting it. It's not your healthy immune system.

Yeah, you are right. The two minutes I take to type things surely takes up my entire day

I do get surprised though. I go to dinner with people that tell me that they caught it from work or that they caught it for the second time, yet I haven't yet as far as I know. Then there are other people that are vaccinated and say they haven't caught it either.

My parents, in their late 70s haven't caught it yet either. So, is it just luck or something else?

I would hazard a guess that its the vaccines and the body is seeing infections as 'close enough' to what the immune system recgnises so that the immune system has a head-start on neutralising the invading virus.

I am not sure there is such a thing. I think unless you have a rare mutation that somehow makes a particular virus unable to replicate, you are just as likely to get it as anyone else. I don't think such a thing exists. Its not like sickle-cell anemia or similar. Its a virus. Your body gets infected, identifies it and tries to fight it.

if you have a vaccine it trains the body to recognise it quicker and attack it earlier. If you haven't seen it earlier, do you have any protection against it or are hoping that your body gets ontop of it quickly?

I am of no doubt that if we had all caught the original strain, this discussion would be (more) irrelevant. We would be sick and complaining that we weren't protected.

Considering that I meet enough people that have told me that they have caught Covid, some seemingly at the same events I have been to or at least infectious at the same time, suggests to me that I have been exposed. Why did I not catch it? I wouldn't be surprised if I have and written it off as a cold.

So what you're saying is covid is no longer serious but still continue to get vaccinated anyway? Or do you think they're gunna start by promoting healthier lifestyles and food choices by possibly subsidising fruits and vegetables to make them comparable to McDonald's n kfc?

Hey, you are making me spend more time on this forum...

Why do people assume that McD's and KFC and all that other junk food is bad for the immune system. It's like people believe that lots of fruit and vegetables somehow make the immune system 'super' and Maccas and KFC make it poorer. Where does this belief come from? Without any scientific basis by the sounds of it.

I would agree that consuming these fast foods in quantities that a lot of people do is not good as there is a lot of sugar and a lot of fat, but what specifically is 'bad' about them that would affect catching Covid versus not?

Yeah, it would be interesting if there were/is such a thing. But it will be hard to separate this from vaccination. In our cases you couldn't identify if it was the vaccination that reduced the impact or something else.

I have caught the flu in the past. Plenty of colds. Why would Covid be any different for me? In reality I still expect to catch it at some point, at least enough to trigger a RAT test.

In the last pandemic 100 years ago, did the people surviving it survive because they had caught a similar flu a little before and their immune system caught it in time? Were they genetically better off somehow against infection? Were they slightly genetically different enough to their peers at the time that they took less of a hit from it and their body was able to defeat the virus?

Did the flu from 1918 become one of the existing flu strains and we have caught it when we were children and gotten enough immunity from that to survive it and close strains?

Who knows!

So, you actually have no answer to the question I posed and will keep on assuming that fast food negatively affects the immune system and fruit and vegetables positively do? That's the sort of faith that just makes assumptions.

Sure, obese people are going to have health problems. It doesn't necessarily mean that it affects their immune system. To assume so is just ignoring how these things work. I guess if you don't want to know you don't want to know.

A copy and paste job i found on GAB.

A message to the people who have turned to degeneracy... Deep down you know you are unwell... You know in the quiet moments alone that you hate your vices, your addictions, your mental illness that pulls you further & further away from your spirit. It will never be enough... No amount of drugs, parties, antidepressants, pride marches & media promotions will give you what you truly need & desire. You want to gather your broken pieces to feel whole again. It's not out of reach. Repent, seek support from good moral people online. Become new wine in a new bottle.

Ahh, it's a KNOWN FACT. That settles it then. You wrote it in upper case. I accept that your use of the shift or caps lock key has defeated my argument.

You would do well working for the government yourself with these 'known facts' but no actual logic. You are like the people that think that the key to a better immune system is eating whatever the latest trendy superfoods are.

I went to Spud shed tonight and a kid served me.

I asked his age and he said 15 and then added Spud shed are now employing 14 year olds.

Is this related to the ill health many are suffering from the shots and from those employees who refuse to comply with taking the shots?

Only time will tell.
