Strapless kitesurfing tricks taken to the next level

Strapless, windy, and boosting high.
As predicted, the strapless revolution is well underway in the sport of kiteboarding, with riders strapping (excuse the pun) surfboards to their car roofs in flat water locations all over the world.

The art of popping a 5ft piece of fiberglass out of the water, with 20 knots of wind trying to blow it off your feet, and landing back on it is about as difficult as it sounds.

That hasn’t stopped the likes of Reider Decker, a rider for Airush in Cape Hatteras though! He’s gone beyond the simple aerial with a strapless surfboard.

Way beyond.

Check out the video below to see some moves that defy belief on the new 2015 Airush Slayer, a board designed almost exclusively for this type of riding. Remember, there are no footstraps, the only thing holding that tiny green surfboard to his feet is air and inertia.

Other riders going down this path are of course Keahi De Aboitiz, who arguably started this craze in the first place back in the 2012 season, and Ian Aldredge. These two are the poster boys for this ‘strapless kiteboarding revolution’, and are about to be joined by this guy – Reider Decker.

We spoke to Reider about his strapless antics, and asked for a few tips on how we can get started with our very own strapless tricks, but he was too busy out practicing to reply. So our tip for you, is to
