More entry slots for Red Bull Lighthouse to Leighton 2016
Starting at Phillip Point Rottnest, off the coast of Perth, the longest race of its kind in the Southern Hemisphere has competitors racing across the Indian Ocean and Gage Roads finishing at Leighton Beach, North Fremantle. A course of 19km, with a course record of just 22 minutes! It’s a spectacular start and finish, with the media coverage by Red Bull offering exceptional press for the sport thanks to the fact that they hire helicopters and an assortment of chase boats!
Conveniently timed a couple of weeks before the final event of the Hydrofoil Pro Tour, this years event is sure to be dominated by the worlds best foilers, with many choosing to arrive early for training and to partake in the iconic race – could this be the year that the race record goes down? We’ll find out in December!
