Top NSW Kiteboarders Crowned After NKL Round 4 In Sydney

The Classic Holidays National Kiteboarding League wrapped up in Sydney yesterday with New South Wales' best riders battling the wind and the waves at Dolls Point Beach.

Despite a soft start to the competition with marginal wind on Friday leaving kiters grounded, the competition continued on Saturday and Sunday with perfect conditions.

At the close of competition, the riders topping the NSW state rankings were:

President of Kiteboarding Queensland & Northern Territory Inc. (KBQNT) and NKL Event Director, David De Witt, said the Sydney riders showed their competitive edge.

"We would like to congratulate the Round 4 winners and all the competitors for making it a great contest," he said. "Sydney produced some very talented kiters and we know they will be serious competition at the Grand Final in February on the Gold Coast. We look forward to seeing what the final round in Melbourne has to offer us next week."

The NKL now sets is sights south, with Victoria's top riders heading for their event in Melbourne from 27 - 29 January at the Royal Brighton Yacht Club.
