Ten Cate Win Division 2
390 cm
Not for the faint hearted. This is a hollow fibreglass race board made by the Dutch company Ten Cate from the early 1980's and I suspect there were very few of this model that ever made it to Australia. It was one of the early division 2 race boards, built to class rules and designed for speed in light to moderate winds. Particularly lethal when sailing to windward because (back in 'those' days) sailboards raced on identical courses to sailing dinghies and had to motor upwind to be competitive. Sails like a greasy log downwind, but still twice as fast as a flat board in sub planing conditions because of its displacememt hull.
The hull is watertight and doesn't leak a drop. I have enjoyed longer cruises on this board but have now acquired a new division 2 board that requires my full attention.
I am only interested in selling this board to someone who appreciates her for what she is. This is not a suitable board for beginners or for using as a SUP, it is just far too rolly polly. Balance is essential, but is repaid in spades with really enjoyable light to moderate wind rides. Perfect board for cruising smooth to partiallly smooth waters for an advanced and adventurous sailor.
No sail included. You could use whatever rig you like, but ideally it would benefit from an older style sail with a closed leach for upwind performance (if you can find such a sail nowadays).
